The bracket size is denoted by the length of the foot, which is the part that screws to the action frame. \u003cbr\u003eThe outer-most two brackets will \u003cstrong\u003ealways\u003c\/strong\u003e be 205mm. There will also be two or three inner brackets, and these will either be 145mm or 170mm. If the front toe of the inner brackets are set back 35mm from that of the outer brackets, this indicates you need 170mm inner brackets. The \"hook\" notch is used with a pulling motion for wire on one side of the bridge, and the end notch with a pushing motion for wire on the other side of the bridge. It is helpful to gently push down on the nearest bass string running under the tool to provide more clearance while using the tool, to prevent accidentally rubbing the brass over the visible copper windings.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eA few years ago at an event, Richard Davenport, who created this tool, suggested that we should make these available, since he was no longer making them.
