If you've installed a Tremol-No or other tremolo modifications:
Make sure all tremolo hardware remains completely inside the cavity throughout its range of motion. If anything protrudes beyond the back surface of the guitar, this cover is not recommended.
Snap in to install, pop out to remove.
This ABS plastic cover has a brushed finish texture. It's a cosmetic mod, but it could possibly protect the back of the guitar from some "buckle rash" or protect the edges of the routed cavity from chipping and wear.
Adjusting the fit (if necessary).
The cover is designed to have a snug press-in fit, but there is a chance the cover could be too loose or too tight, since wood expands and contracts with humidity, and the cavity routing and paint thicknesses might not be exactly the same on all Strandbergs.
A tight fit may be corrected by filing some plastic from the ridge on the back of the cover, marked in red in the photo. If the fit is loose, we include a few strips of foil tape, which you can use as a shim to make the cover fit more tightly. Add one strip at a time to one spot on the ridge until a tight fit is achieved.
The 7-string cover was designed to fit our Prog 7 NX, which has a cavity measuring 129.5mm x 57.5mm. Please verify the dimensions of your trem spring cavity before ordering, even if you have a Prog 7 NX. As long as your measurements are very close to ours, you should be fine. If they are not, please let us know. If your cavity measurements don't match ours, we can custom-make a cover for you, but we will need measurements taken with calipers (eyeballing it with a ruler may not be accurate enough).
